UCPA Workshops

The workshops will take place at the port de Toulon Vieille Darse are reserved for members of Maribay Toulon Plaisance

These free courses, led by UCPA professionals, are designed to help you hone your skills and deepen your knowledge in areas essential to sailing, while raising your awareness of marine conservation.

Morning on the standing rigging

Saturday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of the port office

The exercise will take place on a sailboat.

This morning's instructor will be Jocelyn Labalette, a UCPA staff member who recently trained as a professional rigger.

What you'll learn:

• The necessary annual checks

• Adjusting the mast of a sailboat

• Vocabulary and names of different types of rigging

Morning session on evacuation and survival at sea

Saturday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of the port office

The exercise will take place at sea.

This morning's instructor will be Thibault Michelin, ISAF survival course instructor / 9 Atlantic crossings on ocean racing yachts.

What you'll learn:

• How to evacuate a sailboat

• The percussion of a life raft

• Climb aboard the raft

• Raft turning exercise

Morning session on the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System

• The different means of communication at sea: how rescue operations at sea are organized

Morning session on marine ecology

Saturday, May 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of the port office

This morning's session will be led by Clément Ruscica, who is spearheading the 2024 environmental project at UCPA Croisière.

What you'll learn:

• Living responsibly in the space,

• Regulations governing marine national parks

• Knowledge of risks and the fragility of the environment.
