About us

Maribay Toulon Plaisance, committed by nature

Maribay Toulon Plaisance is the new concession holder for Toulon's harbors. Since January 1, 2024, the company has been responsible for the management and development of five sites for 30 years: Toulon Darse Nord, Toulon Vieille Darse, the port de Saint-Mandrier, the port de La Seyne-sur-Mer and all the Lazaret ports (Balaguier, Manteau, Tamaris, aquaculture zones and Pin Rolland).

Maribay Toulon Plaisance , Toulon Provence Méditerranée's delegate, shares strong ambitions: to take up the environmental challenge, modernize the ports and make them attractive places to live for yachtsmen, professionals and residents alike.

Combined expertise

Behind Maribay Toulon Plaisance, two shareholders have combined their know-how to build a solid, agile governance structure tailored to the region's port challenges.

Through its subsidiary Eiffage Concessions, the Eiffage Group - a recognized player in the construction and public works sector with a strong local presence - continues to diversify into the port concession sector. Its experience in the management of complex facilities (freeways, stadiums, rail infrastructures, etc.) is a major asset when it comes to managing development projects, structuring the port economy and deploying sustainable solutions supported by its construction subsidiaries. A capacity for action that is always tailored to specific local needs.

At its side, Sodeports brings cutting-edge expertise in port management and yachting reception. Already active in other ports, this specialized structure guarantees the coherence of the project, with a hands-on approach focused on the uses of tomorrow.

Their complementarity underpins the identity of Maribay Toulon Plaisance: between performance, local roots and long-term ambition.

Leading players

A subsidiary of the Eiffage Group, Eiffage Concessions plays a key role in the development and operation of major infrastructure projects in France, Europe and Senegal. A committed player in the ecological transition, it is involved in a wide range of projects - transport, renewable energies, urban facilities - contributing to the sustainable modernization of territories.
Specialized in the port sector, Sodeports is the only French company to combine expertise in operations, consulting, auditing and project management. Since its creation, Sodeports has specialized in port facilities, and offers a global approach, from strategic piloting to field management.
A port authority since 2017, Toulon Provence Méditerranée owns and is responsible for the development and management of several ports. While some are entrusted to concessionaires such as Maribay Toulon Plaisance, the Metropole remains a central player, guaranteeing sustainable development and harmonious integration into the local fabric.

A company with a mission

By becoming the first French port company to adopt the status of mission company, Maribay Toulon Plaisance is affirming a strong commitment to managing its ports differently, by reconciling economic performance, environmental responsibility and territorial roots.

Defined by the 2019 Pacte law, this status requires that the articles of association include a raison d'être and concrete social and environmental objectives. These commitments are checked every three years by an independent audit and monitored by a mission committee made up of local players: local authorities, scientists, yachting professionals, user representatives, etc.

Driven by Eiffage, this pioneering positioning reflects a demanding and responsible vision of port management. It commits us to building a yachting industry that is more sustainable, more inclusive, and fully connected to local issues. A fundamental, structuring choice that places mission at the heart of action.

An experienced team

In taking over the port concession, Maribay Toulon Plaisance opted for continuity by integrating the teams already in place. With a staff of around forty people (rising to around fifty in season), the team combines local roots and field expertise. Divided between the ports (around 25 agents) and the support functions (technical, administrative, legal), the employees are fully mobilized around a common objective: to improve the quality of service and place user satisfaction at the heart of their missions.

A collective dynamic

Maribay Toulon Plaisance , the new concessionaire for the harbors in the bay, has no intention of "reinventing everything alone" - quite the contrary! Aware of the richness of the local ecosystem, it relies on existing players (professionals, shipyards, aquaculturists, associations, yacht clubs) to build a common dynamic.

Maribay Toulon Plaisance aims to be a trusted partner, providing concrete tools and resources to support initiatives and co-construct the ports of tomorrow, while respecting the balance and roles of each party.

Building the ports of tomorrow

Since its creation, Maribay Toulon Plaisance has had a strong ambition guided by three structuring axes:

  • Modernizing port infrastructures

Improving services, anticipating new uses, adapting facilities to climate change: we are embarking on a vast modernization plan for all our harbors. Between now and 2030, 80 million euros will be invested to transform our reception infrastructures and meet environmental challenges.

Several projects are already under study, including the installation of a breakwater pontoon at Toulon Darse Nord, a new bunkering station at Saint-Mandrier, and the complete renovation of the Vieille Darse harbour office. Managed by the Eiffage Group's specialist entities, these operations mark the start of a gradual transformation of the five ports.

  • Promoting the ports and the region

Maribay Toulon Plaisance works to turn ports into real living spaces: open, dynamic and connected to their urban and tourist environment.

Hosting major nautical events (Toulon Provence Regatta, Water Rugby, Joutes Provençales, Puces Nautiques...), promoting maritime heritage and creating user-friendly spaces are just some of the initiatives designed to enhance the region's appeal and make the ports catalysts for local energy, serving residents, visitors and economic players alike.

  • Reducing the environmental footprint of ports

Commitment to more sustainable yachting is at the heart of our DNA. True to its status as a company with a mission, Maribay Toulon Plaisance deploys a demanding policy in terms of ecological transition: renovation of equipment to reduce consumption, production of renewable energies, waste sorting, integration of solutions favoring biodiversity, recycling of materials resulting from work (see the section dedicated to the environment).
