Waiting list
How do I get an annual spot?
Simply register on the waiting list for your desired port. You can register directly at the port office or on this official website using the online form. Please note that your registration will only be confirmed once the annual registration fee has been paid (€15 per port). This registration must be renewed each year and your ranking will change annually.
Do you have to own a boat to register?
Not necessarily. You don't have to own a boat to be placed on a waiting list. The boat can be purchased once a place has been allocated.
Is registration permanent?
No, registration must be renewed each year between September 1 and October 31 until a berth is allocated. If you forget to renew your registration, we will unfortunately be forced to remove you from the lists, so please be careful!
What happens if there is a change of boat while waiting?
At any time during the year, you can update the characteristics of your boat on the waiting list with the port office. It is advisable to adjust the dimensions of your request as closely as possible, especially when your ranking number approaches the top 30 positions.
Is the list available for consultation?
The ranking number can be communicated individually by mail or upon request to the port office. However, the complete waiting list is not made public, in accordance with current regulations.
How are locations assigned?
Allocation is based on the order of seniority of the initial request on the waiting list, subject to availability. It therefore depends on both your position on the list and availability, particularly in relation to the size of your boat. Allocations are validated twice a year by an Allocation Committee composed of representatives from Maribay Toulon Plaisance Portelo), the TPM Metropolis, and elected officials from the CLUPIPP (Local Committee of Permanent Users of Recreational Port Facilities).
Is it possible to register on one or more ports at the same time?
Yes, you can register on multiple waiting lists at the same time. However, each port has its own list, with separate registration and renewal fees that you will need to pay for each one.
What are the waiting times for obtaining an annual space?
They vary depending on the desired port and the dimensions requested. For example, at Toulon Darse Nord or Vieille Darse, the waiting time varies between 6 and 10 years depending on the characteristics of the vessel requested. However, smaller berths, which are more numerous, turn over more quickly.
My contract
How do I cancel an annual contract?
There are two options available to you for terminating your annual contract: you can go directly to the port office or send a letter of withdrawal to the harbor master of the site concerned. The termination will take effect within two months of your request. The practical terms of payment are specified in your contract.
Can I keep my annual berth if I buy another boat?
Before changing boats, you must inform the Harbor Master. He will assess, based on the new dimensions of the vessel and availability in the harbor, whether you can keep your current berth or whether relocation is necessary. This change is therefore subject to prior approval, and the harbor office has sole discretion over whether to accept the change of vessel.
My boat has been sold and I do not wish to replace it. What will happen to my contract?
In this case, the sale of your boat automatically terminates your annual contract. This contract is personal, non-transferable, and linked to the registered vessel. It is therefore neither transferable nor assignable.
Can I give my place to a family member?
No, the location cannot be transferred to a third party, even in the case of family ties or inheritance. It is a temporary concession for the occupation of public maritime property, which is strictly personal.
I am in the process of buying a boat. Can I take the place of the seller?
No. The sale of a boat does not automatically transfer its mooring contract. The new buyer will have to join the waiting list to obtain a place in their name.
Can I transfer my contract to another port in the harbor?
No, as ports are managed individually, contracts are only valid at the site concerned. A change of port requires registration on the waiting list for the desired site.
Can I moor several boats in the same place?
No. Only the boat to which the mooring contract is attached may occupy the space. The space may not be lent or sublet.
I want to lend my boat to a friend. Is that allowed?
Yes, provided you notify the harbor master's office. Your friend will need to be able to present the boat's papers and your written authorization in the event of an inspection. Please note: if the harbor rules are not followed, you, as the contract holder, will remain liable.
How do I renew my annual contract?
It is important to remember that any contract in the public domain is by nature precarious, strictly personal, and therefore cannot exceed one year without exceeding December 31 of the calendar year. It must therefore be renewed each year. If you wish to renew it, simply wait for the new contract to be sent to you at the beginning of the year, fill it in, and return it to the relevant port office, accompanied by payment. The annual contract is not renewed by tacit agreement.
In transit
I would like to stop at marinas: do I need to reserve a berth?
It all depends on the length of your stopover. For a short stay (one or two nights), it is recommended that you contact the port office the day before or on the day of your arrival to check availability. For a stay of a few days to a week, it is best to submit a request a few days before your arrival. Finally, for long-term stopovers (a month, a quarter, or more), it is advisable to contact the port between 6 and 12 months in advance.
What documents do I need to send to make a reservation?
For short stopovers, no prior formalities are required: the procedures are carried out directly at the port office once the boat has arrived. However, for long stopovers, a number of documents must be provided: the duly completed passage request form, the French registration certificate or the vessel's registration certificate, a valid insurance certificate, proof of identity (national identity card or passport), bank details, and proof of address. You will receive a response shortly after your complete file has been received. The reservation will only be confirmed by the port office once the mooring fee has been paid.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments can be made by check, cash, credit card, or bank transfer.
What is the cancellation policy?
In the event of cancellation, it is strongly recommended that you notify the relevant port office as soon as possible. Otherwise, and except in exceptional circumstances, the mooring fee will be charged, even if the boat does not arrive.
