The themed morning workshops hosted by UCPA resume on April 25! These free workshops, led by professionals from UCPA and the water sports industry, are designed to help you develop your technical skills and exchange ideas with experts.
Morning meeting with Cross Med La Garde on the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System
Saturday, April 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the IBIS Budget
The instructor for this morning's session will be the shift supervisor at CROSS Med La Garde

- How is the coordination of maritime rescue operations organized?
- How to Improve Communication Between CROSS MED and Boaters During an Accident: A Q&A Session with CROSS MED Representatives
Morning Session onSafety and Rescuing a Man Overboard on a Sailboat
Saturday, May 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Set Sail office
The morning's supervisor will be a permanent UCPA instructor.
What you'll learn:
- The various techniques and methods for rescuing a person overboard,
- Advantages and disadvantages of the various recovery maneuvers,
- Overview of onboard equipment and the different types of life jackets,
- Testing and Impact Testing of Life Jackets
Marine Weather Seminar
Saturday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Set Sail office
The instructor for this morning's session will be the shift supervisor at CROSS Med La Garde

- The various weather sources,
- General atmospheric circulation, high-pressure systems, and low-pressure systems,
- Thermal winds and site effects,
- A special case regarding the weather in the Mediterranean,
- Preparing the Sailboat for Sailing / Anchoring in Heavy Weather
