Eiffage and Sodeports sign concession to operate and redevelop Toulon's 10 marinas

The Toulon Provence Méditerranée metropolitan area has selected the Eiffage and Sodeports consortium for the 30-year contract to redevelop, develop, maintain, manage and operate the marinas in the Toulon harbor.
Eiffage Concessions and Sodeports have once again combined their skills and expertise within the Portelo project company, and signed the contract on November 16, 2023.

The total investment amounts to almost 80 million euros over the life of the contract, plus major maintenance.

This public service delegation will begin on January 1, 2024. It covers the following ports and port areas: Toulon Darse Nord, Toulon Vieille Darse, Vieux-Port de la Seyne-sur-Mer, Espace Grimaud, Balaguier, Manteau, Tamaris, Lazaret including the aquaculture sector, Pin Rolland and Saint-Mandrier.

These 10 ports and harbors will be managed as part of a global, integrated and connected approach, at the heart of a project in line with stakeholder expectations. To this end, and in order to raise the profile of the marinas concerned and support their development in the region, the concession-holder company, Portelo, will adopt the status of a company with a mission, and will be equipped with two supervisory bodies responsible for checking that social and environmental objectives are met.

The contract has a number of objectives: to renovate and upgrade structures and equipment, to improve the level of services offered, to ensure that these 10 port areas are among the cleanest in the Mediterranean region, and to implement sustainable development solutions for the protection of biodiversity, the development of renewable and low-carbon energies, and water and waste management.

The design-build modernization work, managed by Eiffage Concessions, will be carried out by the Group's various business lines: Eiffage Génie Civil via its subsidiary Eiffage Travaux Maritimes et Fluviaux, Eiffage Route, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage Construction. They are scheduled to be completed between 2025 and 2029.

This new contract consolidates Eiffage's strategy of diversifying its portfolio of concessions, particularly in the port sector.
